AML / KYC policy
AML / KYC policy
We screen addresses, not people — and we say plainly when that changes.
Kryptfi does not require identity documents to swap. That is not an invitation to launder
money through it, and this page sets out the controls that apply instead.
What we screen
Every order's addresses are checked against sanctions lists and known-fraud data. The
subject of that check is the blockchain address — not you, because we hold nothing about
you to check.
We also monitor for patterns that indicate abuse rather than trading: structuring a large
sum into many small orders, rapid repetition from one source, and behaviour consistent with
automated attacks.
When an order is held
A small number of orders are paused for a human to look at, typically because:
- an address matched a sanctions or known-fraud entry
- the value is unusually high for the pair
- the pattern around the order suggests structuring or automation
A held order is not cancelled. It waits for review. Use the support thread on your order
page and we will tell you where it stands.
What we may do
Depending on what a review finds we may:
- release the order and complete the swap normally
- refuse it and refund to the refund address you supplied
- request further information before proceeding
- decline to act and make a report, where the law requires it
Where a report is legally required we may be prohibited from telling you it was made.
Prohibited sources of funds
Do not use Kryptfi with funds connected to: sanctioned persons, entities or jurisdictions;
terrorist financing; ransomware or extortion; theft, hacking or exchange compromise; fraud
or investment scams; or the sale of illegal goods and services.
Records
We keep the order records described in our Privacy policy for the period our
obligations require. Because we collect no identity data, those records are of transactions
and addresses.
